Dr. Tionna L. Jenkins, Ph.D., MPH

A public health leader, consultant, entrepreneur and plant-based specialist, Dr. Tionna L.
Jenkins, has over 20 years of public health experience and is dedicated to helping communities, organizations, and individuals towards improving the lives of people.
Having worked alongside, government leaders, major philanthropic & corporate entities, her passion lies in utilizing her education in public policy, public health, and experience to build movements resulting in effective change in solving complex problems.
Dr. Jenkins is the founder and CEO of Plate It Healthy, a public health & wellness boutique created to share delicious plant-based, vegan recipes, provide consultative services and food- pop-up events & catering services. Under that same umbrella, she leads O’nita Lee Foods & Products (named in honor of her grandmother’s), a wholesale food manufacturing company, that produces and sales packaged goods of cookies, granola and jam which is sold online, e-commerce, retail, and wholesale.
She has been featured in national and local publications through both traditional and social media outlets, such as Heart & Soul Magazine, Ebony Magazine, FIT Arkansas, Arkansas Democrat Gazette, KATV, Channel 7, Good Morning Arkansas and KARK, News Channel 4 and
featured on large social media Instagram platforms like Plant Powered Sista’s, Celebrity Chef Babette and Celebrity Chef AJ’s platforms, and national award-winning television producer Jane Velez Mitchell with Unchained TV.
Dr. Jenkins has also been featured on Afro-Vegan Society, Femme Fit Fitale and Black Women Losing Weight and Black Woman Transformation for her work in the public health, wellness, and vegan arena. She earned a Ph.D. in public policy from the University of Arkansas, an MPH from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and a B.S. from Philander Smith College.
She also holds a non-profit graduate certification from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and certifications from both T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University (New York) and Emory University (Georgia) in plant-based nutrition and diabetes management.
She has held numerous national and local board appointments, including the U.S. Department
of Health & Human Services Health Equity Council and currently serves on the Board of
Directors for Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Board of Trustees for Philander Smith
University.
